Meet Murano’s first
glass casting studio and workshop.

A glimpse behind the scenes at the first glass casting studio established on the island of Murano, Italy. Known as a historical mainstay for the art of glass, Murano has a long history of glassblowing, handblown, and worked glass, yet techniques such as casting, although now frequently used around the world, remain a novelty on the island.

Through bringing the art of casting and model making to the Venetian lagoon we hope to invigorate traditional techniques with the technology and know-how of the contemporary art world. Often it is through applying methods designed for other materials and adapting them for glass that progress is made, bringing a new spirit to Murano’s tradition. Pushing towards new innovative techniques that allow contemporary creatives to recreate sculptures in glass the team at CAST GLASS MURANO work to provide a seamless service.
